I need to vent

WOWK 13 News keeps doing pre-taped peices that appear to be live. For example, Sandra Cole says "Crissy Clutter has more from the scene, Crissy???" And the pre-taped peice plays- "Sandra, police say........." They have a conversation, but the field reporter is taped. It's kinda weird...
And with all do respect... if Mrs. Cole doesn't stop saying "Thanks for that report" after every report, I might croke.

WSAZ always airs some 5 minute lovy dovy peice at the beginning of newscast... I want the real news first. please

I wish for morning programs or any other for that matter any of the stations would loosen up. If I actually wake up and watch Eyewitness News this Morning on 8 or whatver I don't want to see them at the main big "anchor desk".. stand up, move around, use bar stools and small table. anything.

Another thing. Why don't any channels have traffic cams. We actually do have traffic around here.

Agreed.

I remember when WOWK started their 5 PM newscast and Ron Burgundy would walk around the news room and ask the various reporters what they were "working" on for 6. I actually really liked that format.

most anchors can not walk around because the cameras are locked down with no one to follow them around.

I also hate 13's pre-taped sign-off "Live and Local in ___, _____, 13 News." They are not live and should not say so. I do like 13's current 5pm set-up, though. Scott Roberts remains standing for the first block of the broadcast, and it is a laid-back presentation.

The outline of the state of West Virginia with the counties outlined as well is my favorite.
When they helpfully transition to a full outline of, maybe Fayette county, that does it for me.
My all time favorite is when they smash the video on the Clarksburg anchor.

most anchors are too busy these days to actually look at what's in their show like mr burgundy did, they can't even say hello without a damn prompter.....
