Today I was in a small convenience store when a trashy looking young man came in and purchased some K2 (synthetic marijuana) and handed the clerk a state welfare card. The clerk ran it through his machine and as he did, the guy says "oh, can you give me $20 on that also"... of which the clerk did. Naturally, the clerk rang-up the purchase as food.

I'm sure this happens thousands of times a day in this state and across the country.

You Mr Taxpayer are paying for it, thanks to the Democrats.

In all fairness, CoolBreeze, the abuse of social systems occurs regardless of who's executed, legislated or judged on the laws that support it. The abusers, themselves, come from both parties as well.

Here's the point I think: You cant blame the abusers any more than you can the perpetrators of the system who scream for more...more...more... and then dont really care to oversee the results. They figure that if 60% of the legitimate people who need it get it.... then they're willing to lose the other 40% to druggies, cheats etc.

Let's start with drug testing people on "walefare." Second, let's pull the food stamp ATMS out of convenience stores. Third, let's forbid them from owning dogs. I have heard more than one story about a "walefare" recipient who couldn't buy dog food with her food stamps. Instead, she went to the meat cooler and got out several packages of ground beef to feed to her mutt.

This fix is unrelated to the topic at hand, but while we are at it, I must insist on staggering the benefit replenish date for all social benefits, rather than everyone getting their stamps & social security checks reloaded at the first of the month.

You can't get anywhere near a Wal-Mart the first week of the month. Also, try ordering a Gino's pizza the first "Two for Tuesday" of the month. Can't be done.

It never surprises me the people who defend welfare cheats. For every low-life welfare thug there's 10 liberals defending their actions. Yes, children under age 18 get a pass only if mom and dad test negative. How do we pay for it? Simple. You pay for it by kicking the drug users off the payroll. That will free up thousands per month in WV.

ATMs.. yep. Card carriers need to only find a convenience store clerk who is willing to charge $30 worth of groceries and cash it out. Easy to do if the clerk gets a kickback for her trouble.

Dogs. Yes, really. Forbid them from owning a dog so they aren't feeding their damn dogs on my dime.

Staggering the payout date would not cost the state any more money. It is all done electronically and it is all automated.

Of course, the average American retiree gets about 14 times more from SS than they pay in.
