Also, there is all kinds of jumping back and forth between business and government. Why aren't you complaining about military working for defense contractors?
Also, the reason network news ratings are down is because less people are watching tv news. This is because fewer people are interested in news and because there are so many other ways to get news. Personal politics have nothing to do with it except for right wing machine types.
