Fire in Huntington

Post by genlock »

Fire chief was asking for police to keep news media away from fire victims.
EMS was attending to the victims.
Fire was near WSAZ and WOWK studios. 6th Ave and 6th St, I think.

WSAZ has live tower cam video.
Live tower-cam was stuck on a still frame for a while.
They even have a good angle on the scene.
Tower leg is close to edge of frame.
Good reports from scene.
A block or so from 3 and 13 studios.

I can live with the bleeding leading the news, but why does something have to be within a block of the news studio in order to get good coverage.

It is sad, but only the independent still photogs and bloggers in this area are the only ones to chase news with a scanner. Most everything else including the majority of what I see on the television comes from the police blotters and matters of record.

What happened to journalism? Oh. The newspapers and other media outlets never recovered from 9-11.
