Wall St Journal Report on Radical Islam

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Wall St Journal Report on Radical Islam

Post by CoolBreeze »

Most Europeans are far less circumspect and politically correct when discussing their Muslim compatriots than are Americans.

A concern for not giving offense to Muslims would never prevent the French internal-security service, the Direction de la Surveillance du Territoire (DST), which deploys a large number of Muslim officers, from aggressively trying to pre-empt terrorism. As Maj. Hasan's case shows, this is not true in the United States. The American military and especially the Federal Bureau of Investigation were in great part inattentive because they were too sensitive.

Moreover, President Barack Obama's determined effort not to mention Islam in terrorist discussions—which means that we must not suggest that Maj. Hasan's murderous actions flowed from his faith—will weaken American counterterrorism. Worse, the president's position is an enormous wasted opportunity to advance an all-critical Muslim debate about the nature and legitimacy of jihad.

It's a bad thing that Obama has done so many things so far in office that hint towards that possibility, that more and more peole are becoming convinved of it.

I believe he's "sympathetic" to their cause, even thought I'm not sure why anyone should be....

You guys may be wrong.
Bieng born in Kenya does not make you a Muslim.

I find it interesting that given the "radical" (read: standard) Islamic view on conversion to Christianity none of the major players from Al Queda have specifically targeted him as an infidel.

And his Muslim faith was less the part of his father than it was his step-father.

I heard he's not even a citizen.
Nor human.
He's actually a highly trained springer spaniel, inserted under deep cover into the US political process in the early 1960's so that radical Islam could take over the White House in 2008.
Not only that, but Hillary Clinton is actually a big fuzzy brown bear who was raised by the Bin Laden family in Saudi Arabia at the turn of the century, then kept unfed in a small cage until being unleashed upon an unsuspecting Wellesley College in the 1960's/
But wait, there's more. Jesus Christ was actually a secret member of an early radical Islamic cult, sent by Bin Laden's early ancestors to infiltrate the as yet non-existent Christian religion to set the stage for the Crusades, thus giving modern day radical Islam a cause to base their wildest claims upon.

2005, when I was OM for the River and the Legend cluster. Not there every day.
Were the 70's when you were getting the good acid?

There was a Bob Campbell in town in the 1970's or early 1980's.
Was a teacher or had something to do with Huntington High.

Was that you?

Oh, it was a real question. Sorry. No, I first moved to WV in 1990 when I went to Super 102 in Charleston. Left in '95. Came back in 2004 to Program WMXE in Charleston and save Regatta, then bounced over to the River.
I'm getting older but I was IN high school in the 70's. Damn, I forgot where I put my walker.
