Sheetz Coming To Barboursville

Wawa and Sheetz did for a convienence store/fuel stop what Starbucks did for the humble, dirty, worn down coffee shop.
Wawa is to Speedway what a Wal-Mart Super Center is to Save-a-Lot.
Wawa is to Go Mart what Vail or Breckenridge (Colorado) is to Booger Holler in MackDowell County, WV.

Wawa stores are located in southeastern PA, southern NJ, Delaware and western MD. In an interview for the Philly Inquirer this summer, the president of Wawa stated that the company has no interest in expanding outside of its core market at this time.

Sheetz does have some advantages over Wawa. Most locations have real cappuccino and espresso. They have deep fryers and grills for burgers, fries and onion rings. And they still have pretzel melts which were a favorite of mine at Wawa.

But they won't have a tuna hoagie with cooper sharp cheese. Mmmmmm.






Darn.... This thread is going to make me drive out to Morgantown, PA (my nearest Sheetz) to roast beef pretzel melt.

There are Wawa stores all over northern VA, too. It's rare to see a Sheetz without a Wawa nearby.
