Classless Football and Media In Southern WV

Saturday's playoff game between Whg Central vs. Matewan was incredible. After losing the game Matewan fans, players, coaches, and even media went ballisitc. Fights on the field, in the stand, there were reports of fans rushing the press box. Way to go Southern WV . Some people even said the media for Matewan reporting the game were even instigating the situation. Will fines be imposed to the media or program: probably not...

Matewan has no media. They have a radio station that is licensed to Kentucky. Blame someone else. I suggest Nick Scott.

I went online to see what I could find out about this------and the high-school summaries didn't say anything like this.

There were a larger number of penalites and a couple of 'scrums' that had to be broken up, but nothing like described.

Obviously Hillary Clinton, Nick Scott, Speedy Bevins and George W. Bush account for this type behavior. There is so much else to be proud of in their town why would they take football personally.

Oh it happened... The scrums were during the game, but after the game it was a melee! (nice word usage huh)... I did hear it was not due to No Child Left Behind, but Tough economic times...

I can't imagine who the "media from Matewan" could be....unless it's the one local tabloid guy.
George would never pay anyone to go that far away to broadcast a game.

There was no radio coverage of the game..least not from Matewan. The stations in Wheeling may have covered it but not WVKM. From what I'm told The Logan Banner newspaper sent a guy, but that was it. I talked to Mike Browning (the reporter from the Banner) and he said he has no idea what this is about. He saw nothing of the sort.
