Other than allowing a lady to go in front of me at the sign-in table, I didn't wait one minute.

And I'm un-freaking-believably good at strategically predicting certain things...like when to go vote.

Besides, doesn't everybody know opening time is insane, lunch sees a push, after-work is awfully busy, but it's typically nothing but a steady trickle the rest of the time?

I went about 3. Had a 10 minute wait for the electronic ballot. Wouldn't have had any wait if I chose paper.

Noticed a few elderly taking their sweet old time voting. Not good news for Obama, considering the straight ticket option.

But there were definitely more people this time than in 2004.

Seemed like more casting votes in Wayne county.
Several geezers wanted to know where the old lever and curtain machines were.
Something brought all the old white-folk out to vote.
Only crisis was when some woman wanted cookies and coffee that belonged to the poll workers.
She was denied access to the food. Federal law, I think.

First time I've ever voted on election day...used to have to vote absentee because of college/permanent address stuff...got to my poling place at 6 a.m...got to vote at 7:45...what a neat process. No matter which way you swing, it's a great civic obligation that we all should be proud to carry.

Voted at 5:15 right after the rain kicked in. All the close-in spots were taken, so I got wet (no matter, rain rolls off my bald head, anyway). Once inside, I only had to wait behind one person to check in and two people to get a paper ballot (scantron special). The two pages of the voter roll printout that I could see were about 3/4 full - the most I've seen in 10 years here.

I went as soon as I got off of work at 1pm. No line in and out in ten minutes!

First two times I voted yesterday I had a long wait. Next 2 not so much. Last time none at all.

I waited an hour to early vote. My brother, who is slotted for the exact same precinct as I am, voted on Election Day and spent 10 minutes tops in the process.
