Hallburn Faces New Charges

There are plenty of reasons for the pool to be closed early.

Lack of swimmers could cause the management to determine that the pay
for the lifeguards, concession operators and manager would exceed the
profits for a time period thus the pool would close.

A mechanical problem or a lack of supplies could cause a safety problem
with chlorination or a personnel problem with not enough lifeguards
might cause the pool to close.

The pool manager may have seen, even briefly, a picture of
Hallburn in swimming attire with some sort of a fish and therefore
concluded for the public good that he should not enter and swim
with members of the community.

whistleblowers usually alert the world to the masses being screwed.... the way that reads he just seems like a self-entitled douchebag.... I dont know him so i may be wrong..

I like what Mark Hallburn is doing.
I think he should test the TSA next and possibly the Governor's security detail.
After all, we do have a right to know if these government functions work.
Mark is just the guy to test them.

I wonder how much of it is fact and how much is embellishment.

However, it's quite true that two-bit local "gubmint" Boss Hogg types will often use the town police as their own personal goon squad to harass anyone who threatens their fiefdom.

I can't lump Hallburn with actual whistle-blowers. Most legitimate whistle-blowers seem to have good intentions in trying to alert the outside world to wrongdoing.

Hallburn seems to howl against the wind just to attract attention to himself. I just don't understand anyone who wants to get arrested, or targeted by cops in a town that can't seem to stand him.

At first I thought he was goofing on the blog--just running the Gonzo thing. But it's clear he needs serious help. Someday it won't be a pool manager working a summer job. One day he'll screw with the wrong person, and he'll end up in a hospital or worse. Knowing some good ole boys from my old neck of the woods--he'd have as much chance as Jimmy Hoffa if he tried this same S**t with them.

He does seem to feel entitled to make waves, and that's a recipe for disaster with his attitude.

And I did read that..."news story" he posted and this one gets me pissed.

Very early the next morning, Hurricane Police, which never contacted me for my side of the story, arrested me on a trumped-up telephone harassment charge.

Now we all know the stories of Mark calling to get people fired...over and over and over again. Someone really needs to let him know that he's walking a very fine line. And he's about to fall off.

You know, since I read that, I do appreciate that someone is directly standing up to the Ol' Boy network for a change. Even if his tactics are a little over the top.

But, once again, Arp is right... The network is much bigger than him. The more he fights it, the more miserable it will make his life.

He should move somewhere else that will more appreciate his vigilance. The people here just don't care that much. I mean it when I say that you have to learn some apathy to live here, to keep from going nuts.

But, he's still batshit crazy, not only because of his antics, but the fact that he still dares to defy the Almighty Cronies.
