Joyner Cites Obama Flak As Reason Smiley Leaves Radio Show

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

"We're so emotional about this Barack Obama candidacy," Joyner said on his Dallas-based show. "If you don't say anything for Barack Obama, you're considered to be a hater."

Smiley criticized Obama for not attending an annual "State of the Black Union" symposium Smiley held in February. Sen. Hillary Clinton was the only presidential candidate who accepted Smiley's invitation.

"I'm catching hell," Smiley said in an earlier interview with BlackAmericaWeb.com.

Joyner urged listeners to show Smiley the love he needs via e-mails and calls.

"He loves black America and black America has been very critical of him," Joyner said of Smiley. "It hurts. It hurt me to hear black Americans criticize him."
Man.....just imagine flipping that around.....
  • "Since we're white, we're so emotional about this white guy's candidacy," Joyner said on his Dallas-based show. "If you don't say anything for the white guy, you're considered to be a hater."

Smiley criticized the white candidate for not attending an annual "State of the White Union" symposium Smiley held in February. The candidate of the opposite race was the only presidential candidate who accepted Smiley's invitation because she needed to be seen appealing to the opposite race while the candidate of the same race purposely avoided the event, blatantly not wanting to be seen as a candidate of only that race.

"I'm catching hell from other whites who think I'm betraying the white race," Smiley said in an earlier interview with WhiteAmericaWeb.com.

Joyner urged listeners to show Smiley the white-race-love he needs via e-mails and calls.

"He loves white America, and white America has been very critical of him," Joyner said of Smiley. "It hurts. It hurt me to hear white Americans criticize a fellow white American for finding fault with the white candidate (even though I'm mad at him for it, too)."
Such blatant appeal based strictly on race, race-baiting, and -- let's say it -- racism has no place on radio.
