This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.
I will openly admit that I predicted a WVU victory but damn by 6 points not 20! Looked like the fans and players were chanting for Coach Stewart seems like a great guy and I'd love to see him get a shot although I worry that he's almost too much of a player's coach, that and he went 8-25 at VMI.
I picked OU by 10 I believe. The thing about the BCS is, unless you're playing next Monday, The Eers victory is as meaningul as Alabama beating Colorado in the Independence Bowl.
I had a feeling they would win..not that big of course...but win, nonetheless. A sort of F U Rich Rod win. I think the players wanted it for that reason. I have heard they really like Bill Stewart as well.
Which, by the way, he's going to be announced at 9am mountain time as the WVU head coach.
Don't get me started on the Fox coverage of the game......grrrr...

Bob,
I believe that you are just wanting sooo bad to be a mountaineer fan that it is tearing you up on the inside. We hold no animosity towards you, we welcome you, come on join us. Oh, by the way Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer agree, WV could have beat anybody in the nation last night.
I swear to God they must have brought the D crew in to do the game!
It was AWFUL!!!
Uck...I just wanted to reach through the tv and say...give me that mic...idiot.
Not that I'm a prize winning reporter or anything but good LORD they were awful.
OH! And how many times can we get the shot of the friggin Gatorade buckets? Just random shots of Gatorade. I wondered how much they were gettting paid for that.
AAARRGGHHH!!

While I have no general disregard for the Eers, when it comes to football I bleed Crimson Tide.
And I'm beating at least one of Kennie Bass' pets in the Fox 8 football pool.
Fox does college football the way ESPN does Nascar, like they've found something, they're not sure what it is, and they don't quite know what to do with it.

Me too...
Maybe it was so I would be pleasantly surprised if they were able to just keep it close...
Me too...
But NO ONE predicted that they would blow Oklahoma out!!
Me neither...
Good stuff...
Yep.
But it does still sadden me to know that had they just not gotten outcoached by Pitt, that they would have played for and won it all..
Yep.
The 'eers well earned their day in the spotlight. I honestly thought they would choke in front of a national audience with so much attention being paid to them over the whole Rod fiasco. Never mind Oklahoma being ranked #3 in the country...
I'm not a huge WVU fan, but anything that boosts the morale of the people of this state is a good thing.
I just wonder when WVU will officially be considered one of the "big boys" in the country... It looks to me like they are well on their way. Maybe alumni donations to the sports dept will really pour in now.
Does anybody ever see them "outgrowing" the Big East and going to a larger conference, like VA Tech did a few years ago?
I agree with Coolbreeze about the Coach Stew issue. I'm sure he's a great guy, ut look up his record at VMI. 8-25 is I'm remembering right. He's been with WVU since 2001, so maybe he's changed. I guess he can't be any worse than the other coaches. The plus side is if he doesn't already have his MBA, he should be able to get that in half the time.
I think Stewart is the right guy at the right time for this position. WVU needs a feel good ending after the Rich Rod incident. However, I don't see him as the long term solution.
My guess is he will make it 4 of the 5 years and then both he and WVU will agree on a buyout for the remaining year.
