Well, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I have the bad habit of making up my own mind about things and I'll be glad to change mine when I see a preponderance of evidence from reliable sources.
Of course, the guy who founded the Weather Channel is a meteorologist, not a climatologist. And one of the guys who decries global warming ( I only know this because he was on Liddy's show last week and I carry it on my AM) is, oh crap, I just forgot. It was a medical field degree I think. Totally unrelated to weather and stuff like that.
My bottom line remains; acting like global warming is real has no long term down side.
And I still want to know what the picture was.

My guess is he was making fun of our conversation. Saying it was a train wreck. If not that I have no idea.
"We are the CC Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your broadcast stations. We will add your biological and creative distinctiveness to our own. Your broadcast personality will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile."

But you haven't, and, yet, you believe anyway.Bob Campbell wrote:I have the bad habit of making up my own mind about things and I'll be glad to change mine when I see a preponderance of evidence from reliable sources.

I've had "The Father Of Modern Climatology" on my DVR since Thursday; I hope to get the relevant parts of his comments transcribed later today or tomorrow. (I was hoping that someone else would do it and put it online, but I've yet to find that anyone has.)
Sure, it does -- very significant loss of freedom, liberty, and power! My bottom line remains; acting like global warming is real has no long term down side.
Something to consider:
If you were doing mornings on a nationwide network in China, an almost incomprehensible experience would be yours -- every single morning, you'd be talking to 14,000 brand new in-car listeners! If you take weekends off, that would be 42,000 new listeners between the end of your show Friday and the beginning of it Monday. It would be like getting a whole 'nother Chicago metro -- every single adult there -- listening to you in-car every year!
14,000 additional cars are going on the road every single day in China. And nobody says word one to China.
And if cow farts are such a big issue, ya gotta go lay the smackdown on India, first.
If there even is a human-caused problem, we're not it.
A trainwreck....not much of one (I believe they call it a "split switch"), but that's what it is.And I still want to know what the picture was.
"I don't know the same things you don't know."
"Yes, you do; you just won't admit it!"
"Yeeee...it looks like a 'Belt Buckle & Ball Cap' convention in here......"

Now Arp, go have another Kool Aid.
Train wreck? Sounds like my show.
What China does is really irrelevant to what we do. I know they are an awful polluter, but we can't control them. The world is exerting what pressure it can. See 2008 Olympics.
What freeedom and power do we give up if we act on warming?
As much as we've given up in the so-called "War on Terror"?
What's the difference between "freedom" and "liberty"? Don't tell me you were being redundant!!!!
The point is really moot though. The world is moving in the "Fight Warming" direction. So is the US. It may be slow, but it's happening. We're not going back.

And this just in from the....Well that' creepy department.
From the Greensboro News and Record;
A NASA climate scientist says the Arctic Ocean could be nearly
ice-free by 2012. The melting of the Arctic accelerated this
summer, a warning sign scientists worry could mean global
warming has passed an ominous tipping point.
The creepy part of course,is, for all you conspiracy/doomsday/ufo/pyramid nuts out there; 2012 marks the end of the Mayan calendar, signifying the end of "life as we know it".
