Kiefer Sutherland Arrested for Misdemeanor DUI

Kiefer Sutherland was pulled over in West Hollywood in the wee hours of Tuesday morning and arrested for suspicion of DUI after allegedly exceeding the legal blood-alcohol limit, TMZ reports. Being the 24 star's second DUI in the past five years, by California law, if convicted, he must serve a minimum of five days in jail.

Sutherland, who was stopped after making an illegal U-turn, was transported to the Hollywood Police station and later released on $25,000 bail. Sources tell TMZ he was "cooperative and mellow" while in custody. Sutherland is scheduled to face a judge on Oct. 16.

I'd like to have seen the initial look on the arresting officer's face when he walked up to the car and realized he'd pulled over Jack Bauer. 8O

Kiefer Sutherland Charged With DUI

LOS ANGELES — Kiefer Sutherland, already on probation for a 2004 drunken driving arrest, was charged Friday with misdemeanor driving under the influence in a case the city attorney's office said could put him in jail for more than a year.

The star of the Fox TV drama "24" was charged with single counts of driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or above, said city attorney spokesman Nick Velasquez. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of a year in jail and a minimum of four days, Velasquez said.

"We also charged him with a second DUI offense within 10 years, which we believe also violates the terms of his probation," Velasquez added.

If found guilty of violating probation, Sutherland could be sentenced to an additional six months.

Sutherland publicist Evelyn Karamanos didn't immediately return a call for comment.

Lil Wayne Arrested After Idaho Concert
Oct 6, 7:01 PM (ET)

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Hip-hop star Lil Wayne was arrested in Boise on a felony fugitive charge after authorities in Georgia accused him of possessing a controlled substance, authorities said.

The 25-year-old rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was arrested after his Friday concert at Qwest Arena and booked into the Ada County jail. Because of the type of charge, he was not eligible for bond and probably wouldn't get out to make it to his scheduled Saturday night concert.

After his arrest, the jail was bombarded with dozens of angry phone calls from fans, concert promoters and others, said a jail deputy who didn't want her name to be used because of the public uproar.

"Every other phone call that we've picked up have been about him - people who have tickets wanting to know where his concert will be, people calling to see if it's true that he's incarcerated," the deputy said Saturday afternoon.

Carter is scheduled to be formally charged Tuesday and will be asked then if he plans to waive his extradition to Georgia, the deputy said.

An e-mail to Carter's publicist at Universal Music Group was not immediately returned.

Carter's previous brushes with the law include a 2005 drug arrest in Atlanta.

His "Tha Carter II" album, released in 2005, has sold about 2 million copies worldwide. He recently was voted "Hottest MC in the Game" by a panel at MTV.

'24' STAR GETS 48 DAYS

Having pleaded no contest to drink driving, '24' star Kiefer Sutherland is now facing 48 days in jail as part of his sentencing deal. Reuters reports that if the sentencing deal is approved by a judge, it would allow Sutherland to serve 18 days in jail in late December and early January and another 30 days when '24' is off the air next summer.

The sentencing deal would not disrupt the filming of the seventh season of '24'.

In a statement about Sutherland's deal, '24's makers, Fox, said: "He told us that even if he had to sacrifice more time in custody in order to protect the show and the jobs of those who work with him, he would do so. From what occurred today, it is evident he is a man of his word."

Sutherland was arrested last month while still on probation for a 2004 drink driving offence. Prosecutors have recommended that he serve 30 days for last month's offense and another 18 days for violating his probation in the 2004 case.

Sutherland will be barred from driving before May 2008 and prosecutors have recommended that he be ordered to enrol in an 18-month alcohol education program and attend weekly counselling sessions on alcohol abuse.

Ex-'Lost' Star Rodriguez Gets 6 Months
Oct 10, 10:48 PM (ET)
By RAQUEL MARIA DILLON

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Former "Lost" star Michelle Rodriguez was sentenced Wednesday to six months in jail for failing to complete community service and alcohol monitoring as part of her probation from a previous drunk driving incident.

Rodriguez appeared before Superior Court Judge Daviann L. Mitchell, who ordered her to report to the county jail on Christmas Eve, the city attorney's office said.

Rodriguez "admitted violation of her probation by failing to provide proof of community service and by consuming alcohol three times while wearing an alcohol monitoring device," City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan said.

"She did file a document that said she completed community service on September 25th, but we obtained evidence that she was in New York that day," Mateljan said.

The document was required as part of 30 days of community service Rodriguez was ordered to serve for violating probation in a 2003 drunken driving case.

Mitchell ordered Rodriguez to complete the community service cleaning streets and highways, and prohibited her from being granted early release for work furlough or electronic monitoring, Mateljan said.

Calls to Rodriguez's attorney Wednesday were not immediately returned.

Rodriguez was on three years probation after pleading no contest to hit-and-run, driving on a suspended license and drunken driving in connection with two incidents in Hollywood in 2003.

She violated her probation when she was arrested in Hawaii on a drunken driving charge in 2005.

Rodriguez was ordered to spend 60 days in jail, but served less than a day because of jail overcrowding in May 2006. She was then ordered to perform community service and remain on probation until June 2009.

Rodriguez appeared in one season of ABC's "Lost." Her film credits include "The Fast and The Furious,""Blue Crush" and "Girlfight."

From the police department's celebrity booking desk...

TV Host Gary Collins Arrested in L.A.

Oct 24, 7:41 PM (ET)

LOS ANGELES (AP) - TV host and actor Gary Collins was arrested for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence after a traffic accident that police blamed on another motorist, an 89-year-old man. Collins, 69, was booked after the Tuesday crash in the San Fernando Valley, said police Officer April Harding.

Collins was later released on a $40,000 bond, authorities said.

"He was not at fault in the accident," Harding said. "The other motorist failed to yield to oncoming traffic and collided with Collins' vehicle."

The actor's 2004 Ford Explorer subsequently crashed into two parked cars, Harding said.

"Officers smelled alcohol on his breath and initiated a field sobriety test, which he failed," she said. Collins was uninjured.

Always worked well for Mom. I can still see her now, swerving like hell, dropping me off at school in the morning. Never did understand why she dropped me off at the front door, then picked Nunley up at the back door.

That's what I did... learned just when to stop and knew the back roads that I could use to get home that would be cop-free just in case I screwed up. Almost all my old-time drinking buddies got busted, but I never did, and there were some times that I should have.

Former Child Star Fishel Arrested
Dec 22, 6:47 AM (ET)

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Former child star Danielle Fishel, a teen heartthrob on ABC's "Boy Meets World," was arrested this week on a drunken driving warrant from Los Angeles County, police said.

Fishel was arrested Thursday just before 5 a.m. after officers stopped a car she was in, said Newport Beach Sgt. James Rocker. She was released from jail shortly after her arrest.

Fishel grew up in Yorba Linda and spent more than seven years playing Topanga, the love interest of "Boy Meets World" star Ben Savage.

In 2006, Fishel became the spokeswoman for NutriSystem after she announced on The Tyra Banks show that she was so thrilled about losing 20 pounds with the diet program that she wanted to be the company's spokeswoman.

In February, Fishel became a special correspondent for the Tyra Banks show.
