Take a trip to one of the following:
USS Intrepid Museum
National Air And Space Museum Udvar-Hazy Center
Kennedy Space Center
California Science Center
And you will see the love that our country had for its fleet of Space Shuttles and the honor we have given them to inspire future generations. (And the orbital vehicle that disappointed us in 1986 was dumped 90 feet underground in missile silos at Cape Kennedy by the end of that year.) These space craft were the pride of America and the fleet of shuttles soared for more than 30 years.
But what happens when a newly minted fleet of shuttles never make it to space before there country collapses? Here are some pictures of what has happened to the Soviet Buran shuttles that never were.

And in Russia, the reward for the one Buran shuttle that made it to space was its destruction when the building holding it (setting atop its Engergia boosters) collapsed around it. Quite sadly, 7 workers were killed in the collapse.
