The following information was provided by the Huntington Police Department:
BREAKING AND ENTERING: A complainant from Mortenson Broadcasting Company reported that sometime between June 18 and Friday, someone gained entry to a transmission station in the 900 block of 21st Street West and stole more than $135,000 worth of equipment, including a transmitter and coaxial cable.

coax might have been harder to handle (300 ft 7/8 heliax).
Xmtr was size of big refrigerator and about 1500 lbs.
whoever stole it knew what they were getting and how to do it.

What make/vintage? Several engineering message boards could be alerted to be on the look for it--although it probably is already on a truck to Mexico.

A repo would have taken the transmitter in broad daylight with sheriff's deputy watching.
