James Cameron's "Avatar" coming out this year is supposed to use this technology, to take film to the next level.

I don't see the appeal of 3D programming. Maybe I need to see one of those NFL games shown in 3D to know for sure, but I'm quite happy with watching NFL playoff football on my brother's 67" Samsung HDTV.

Alot of the newer HD sets that have hit stores in the last year are 3-D ready for those lovely Blu-Ray players. I dont see why something couldnt be broadcast in 3-D within the next couple years.
