(AP) BALTIMORE The 2 a.m. deadline has lapsed and Sinclair Broadcast Group's television stations are still being carried on
Comcast cable systems.
A Sinclair executive said Wednesday the company would pull its stations from Comcast unless there was a new deal with Comcast for retransmission rights. But a spokesman for Comcast tells WBAL Radio that the two sides agreed to extend the deadline and continue talking.
The stations still available this morning on Comcast include Sinclair's Baltimore stations, WBFF TV and WNUV TV.
Comcast customers in 23 markets receive Sinclair stations.
I have checked WBAL-AM and they are reporting that WBFF and WNUV remain on Comcast as of 6:40am.

Comcast customers in the Richmond area will continue to receive "American Idol" and other Fox programming until March 9.
Comcast's contract to carry Fox Richmond, which is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc., was supposed to expire today but has been extended, according to a news report last night on WRLH, the local Fox affiliate.
The two sides still have not reached an agreement, but Sinclair Vice President and General Counsel Barry Faber was quoted as saying he was optimistic that a deal would be struck before the second extension given to Comcast expires.

Technically, all agreements occur at the last minute, for, after they're reached, negotiation on that agreement ends.
Pretty much.
But, anyway,.....

Suddenly I'm so glad Comcast here in Wheeling and the Upper OV have replaced WPGH (Sinclair owned station) with WTRF's FOX feed. At least we KNOW that won't go away.
When in the hell is Sinclair going to stop digging its own grave...(EDIT -- WAY off-topic....Arp)...pulling HD channels from Comcast once, and NOW they want to do THIS?!
C'mon, Hyman, just admit that you are just a greedy, slimy, pitiful excuse for a station owner, that cannot possibly get his head out of his ass long enough to realize that he has officially fucked over his ENTIRE network of stations.
