Daryl Dragon, Captain of The Captain and Tennille, dies at 76
PRESCOTT, Ariz. — Daryl Dragon, who was best known as the Captain from the group The Captain and Tennille, has died at the age of 76, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Carol Channing, the Broadway star who earned a lifetime achievement Tony Award for her legendary career, which included roles in classics like "Gentleman Prefer Blondes" and "Hello, Dolly!" died on Tuesday. She was 97.

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Frank Robinson, a former Baltimore Oriole and Hall of Famer, has died at the age of 83.

He was the first player to win MVP awards in both leagues and the first African-American manager in MLB. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame as a Baltimore Oriole in 1982. Robinson was also awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest honor given to civilians in the United States, by President George W. Bush in 2005.

Peter Tork, the bassist for 1960s rock favorites the Monkees, is dead at 77.

Tork's Monkees bandmate Micky Dolenz confirmed the news on Twitter, writing, "There are no words right now...heart broken over the loss of my Monkee brother, Peter Tork."

Tork's cause of death is not yet public, though he was diagnosed with a rare tongue cancer, adenoid cystic carcinoma, in 2009.

Doris Day, whose wholesome screen presence stood for a time of innocence in ’60s films, has died. She was 97 years old.

The Doris Day Animal Foundation confirmed Day died early Monday at her Carmel Valley, Calif., home. The foundation said in an emailed statement she was surrounded by close friends and “had been in excellent physical health for her age, until recently contracting a serious case of pneumonia.”

Tim Conway, the agile comedian who was a core member of the “The Carol Burnett Show” troupe and starred in string of Disney film comedies in the 1970s, died Tuesday morning in Los Angeles. He was 85.

A rep for Conway tells Variety he died from water on the brain.

Legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback Bart Starr died Sunday at the age of 85, according to the team.
The Packers announced Starr, a catalyst of Vince Lombardi's powerhouse teams of the 1960s, died in Birmingham, Ala., citing his family.

Ventriloquist Jimmy Nelson passed away last night at the age of 90.
Many of you knew him as the man behind (or underneath, as it were) Danny O'Day and Farfel.
Many of you knew him as the "Nestle's makes the very best CHOCOLATE" commercial guy.
Many of you knew him as the father of Larry Nelson (WCLG/WMQC/A bunch of others).
