WCHS TVs hunt footage

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

WCHS TVs hunt footage

Post by CoolBreeze »

A few weeks or more back, TV 8 did a segment on female hunters in WV and how more women are taking to the woods to commit murder on helpless animals in order to help keep from killing their husbands ( or something.. I couldnt watch it all) and I've noticed that every story TV 8 runs about hunting now includes this same old footage of all those women hunters. Is this a sneaky feminist ploy somehow or are they just too lazy to use other footage?

Lazy... I'm sure.

Fox News, the number one cable news network, does a report on Apple Computers (non-Ipod) and STILL uses stock footage of an Apple assembly plant putting together iMacs......... Circa 1998 iMacs.... with pastel colors and CRTs.

I bet you don't see McMurtry in that footage, I hear he rarely, if ever, goes out on those Woods and Waters stories.

well, when women only go into the woods once a year for these special events, i'd assume they'd have a hard time finding sum different video.

This is no different than WOWK doing a live shot from the BP down the street every time there is a "gasoline" story. Or CHS going to the same station in town over and over....What ever is cheap and quick! At least the vid is from a receint story.

By the way...it's when the women come out of the woods without a deer and with a loaded gun that I would worry.

You mean this http://www.wchstv.com/newsroom/wvwildli ... 0221.shtml footage?

From the look of all the videos, it appears he is almost always out in the woods on these stories.

Depending on what kind of archiving system WCHS-TV has, it might be that hunting/gun video is marked in the system as being on that tape (or on a digital archive or however it's handled there.)

I never encountered this first-hand, but I know that a TV station I once worked at used video of some local kids in a classroom as b-roll for an education story. The video was a few years old. It had to be re-cut for later runs because the mom of one of the kids in the video called up, quite upset, as her child had died in the time since that video was recorded.

it was, the elusive blond beaver..... some say it's a myth. WCHS plays myth busters tonight with footage of this mythical creature.

Anybody remember the early 70's when WHTN (WOWK) almost lost their license over showing the same film (yes, it was film) of the city council every week? It became a noted FCC case. Arnie
